Gravitation model – on account of its name and history – is deemed to be a spatial analysis methodology based on physical analogy, which often leaded to misunderstands in connection with the model's theoretical fundament and practical usability. In our study we analyse the question of theoretical fundament of the model completely independent from the existence of gravitation law. After that with the comparison of the model and the law we present the its significant and generally different characteristics from the law, which have to be considered in case of the model's use and results analysis.
