Abstract

The paper presents the main results of the recent innovation survey in the Central Transdanubian region. The main goal of the survey carried out for the regional innovation strategy was to deliver information about the innovation activities and performance of companies in the Central Transdanubian region. With the help of this information such programs could be defined that will contribute to the better performance of innovation activities in the region. We have received 218 questionnaires. The main results of the survey show that 22,7% of the respondents developed new products/services in the last 3 years while the share of new processes reached 13,2%.

It can be stated that there are many improvements needed for the better performance of innovation activities of companies in the region. Innovation incentive programs in the frame of the regional innovation strategy can be successful if they are based on demand of companies and the conditions of regional knowledge infrastructure.
