Abstract

The main aim of the study is to give a general overview of the institutional relationships with Austrian partners maintained by the local governments, institutions and NGO's of the West Hungarian region. We used two data sets from the survey made within the frameworks of the PHARE CBC project „From Cross-border Activity to an Integrated Border Region". The study explore the origins of relationships, introduce the working of cooperations and pan out about the difficulties in developing ties as well as the future plans. The report was made on purpose to create a starting point for a more detailed analysis that grabs the deep structure of these ties by involving the wider scale of the circumstances forming the activity of the examined institutions in cross-border cooperations.
